Foods that age you faster


Foods that are very healthy, ages you faster? When you start the journey of weight loss, we stick to whole wheat breads , salads, corns and refined sugar. In reality, some foods age you faster.

What speeds up the ageing process in our body?

The " Glycation" in the body and substance called Advanced Glycation End Products( AGEs). These compounds are responsible for speeding up the process of ageing. 

What produces AGEs in our body?

High blood sugar levels overtime, produces AGEs. ( That's why people with diabetes look older)

Lets see the foods that produce AGEs overtime, 

Whole wheat breads

Whole wheat bread is very healthy but it contains a very unique carbohydrate compound called Amylopectin-A that is not found in other food products which spikes the blood sugar even more than sugar. 

Corn based foods:

Corn is a great snack. But these corn based snacks and desserts have high impact on your sugar levels and so accelerate your ageing process. 


Sugar:

Sugar and sugary foods is a must avoid. Well, we can call it as "White foods" as they are very prone to faster ageing. Instead of sugar, try choosing an alternative sweetener like honey or jaggery.

Controlling your sugar intake can control your blood sugar level and so your age. 


Vegetable oils :

The different kind of oils used in our daily routine for cooking are advertised as healthy and energetic by giant oil companies. But are they really healthy? Yes, they are in certain amount only. These oils mostly have undergone a highly refining process in heat with chemicals to attain this form. This oil that we consume has poly-saturated fats that have undergone lot of oxidation process, which is not healthy for our body as the oil is very inflammatory inside, producing free radicals and damaging our cell membranes, which automatically contributes to faster ageing and other health problems.
