Our Little One

In the early months after birth, I would keep talking to my little one Ria. She would keep listening as if she understands what I am talking to her. Actions and our love conveyed more than words. 

Around 4 to 5 months, she started getting more interest in objects and toys than faces. This started as she started to use her hands better, so she became fascinated by grasping objects and hitting things, she started exploring the little world around her. Sometimes it was very difficult to get her attention when she plays with her toys. 

As we celebrated her first birthday, Ria was very naughty and a hyperactive kid. I felt as if my life was endless running behind her. She would pull down anything on her way, would grab anything and try to eat it and so on. Apart from all this Ria had her own happy moments which she just loves. 

Few of the happy moments which makes Ria joyous are

Jumping to few TV commercial ad's

Music makes Ria run around. She loves few TV commercial ad music, she would come running to the tv from where ever she was playing. She jumps to the music and shakes her body for those weird ad's which I wonder why she likes. We have also recorded her favorite Tv ad's and would play it for her when she is cranky or not well. 

Funny Faces

Ria loves when her daddy makes funny faces. She would watch him very carefully and then start shouting and laughing. She would sometimes start beating her daddy with those cute tiny hands. It happens when she becomes overjoyed. Ria likes it only when her daddy does it, once when her grandfather made funny faces, she gave a stare and never cared to look at him again. 

Baby Bouncer

One of the life saver of many moms is baby bouncer as it frees up mom to do the daily chores while it keeps the baby comfortable and happy for hours. It's like her own sweet time, she keeps talking to herself and plays with her little toys in the bouncer. She would laugh aloud sometimes seeking our attention. 

Playing Peekaboo

Ria loves to play peekaboo, she understands how objects can disappear and come back again. She enjoys to play with anyone and this would settle her calm in a place for some time. Again she will start rounding the entire home and come back to play peekaboo. At times when she is very bored, she would start playing peekaboo herself with my shawl. 

Ria enjoys all these only when she is happy on the inside and outside. She is in full swing when her tummy is full and diaper is dry. She gets comfortable with herself when the diaper is dry and comfortable. If not, Ria will be very cranky. Diaper plays an important role in keeping a child happy. The man behind my happiness

As I watched the video of #MyFamilyMyPride ad film, it refreshed my memories back to the man of my inspiration. Do watch the amazing video yourself before reading the story of my dad and his lessons for me. 

This wonderful advertisement would have definitely reminded you about the important person in your life. 

From my young age, my dad has been my identity with which I associate with, he has been my friend, love and a enemy. He was a self-disciplined person who was conscious about his thoughts, words and action. He was a role model not only for me but many in my family. He spread love, intelligence and courage everywhere he went. People would come for advice on land dealings and cases. Some even feared about his presence in respect. 

I wanted to be just like my dad, to see every challenge as an opportunity and change it into success. But I had the fear of failure, which never let me come out of the shell. I could not go swimming in the fear of drowning, I could not drive my bike in the fear of falling down, and so on which my father learned very soon from my actions. He knew how he trained me to be brave and face extreme situations yet this fear has invaded deep inside me. Boys my age were bold, strong and challenging while I never took up any challenges that was on my way. 

My father wanted me to learn through actions rather than advise or words which would never help me overcome the fear. An incident, which changed my life forever and that changed me to a positive person full of sparks and glow. We went to my grandmother's place where she does farming and owns a few rental shops. I had a sibling too, so we roamed around the farm and take bath in the water tanks. There was a small well where everyone would swim, play and bath but my fear never let me enjoy it. I would ask my cousins to tie a small rope around my waist and go inside and play with them. They would tease me for still being a child-like person but I never cared because of my fear.

As we were playing inside happily splashing water on each other in a safe mindset of having been tied to the small support in the well so I could manage. After a while, I realized that it was set loose and all this time, I had been swimming myself. I panicked the very moment and I saw my father beside the support where the rope was tied. He was having a pride of letting go of my fear and shouted "You young fellow, come on, you are doing great!!". Oh yes!! I no longer panicked, I struggled through and developed the water confidence in a fun filled moment where my cousins motivated me to try harder to withhold and this moment when I realized my potential and inner strength of the person I am. He let my fear burst out, he knew I was capable but it was my incapability to accept it. He taught a lesson of how capable I am. 

That borderline of fear I crossed to become successful was very thin but my failure to understand was thick which my father bridged. From that very day, I gave everything a shot, more of a chance to find where I stand and had been experiencing remarkable success. 

I am so grateful to have such a powerful and inspiring person in my life!!! I attribute for everything I am to him now!!!

Pampering Bedtime Rituals

Mommies are always running around with their prince and princess around the clock. Do you think the mommies get the enough sleep body requires? Are they refresh and rejuvenated to take care of the kid?

A proper bedtime ritual is very important and should be followed. Some of you might think, it is not necessary, but they prepare your mind and body to sleep. This way the mind and body gets prepared, over time more organized and starts performing best. Proper bedtime routine gives you the peaceful sleep to get energized and be prepared for the next day. 

Babies require a proper bedtime ritual and as they grow their preference changes accordingly the bedtime ritual. I followed a bedtime routine for my boy when he was a child to ensure he gets proper good night sleep and wakes up happy which I am going to share now

Check this Pampers video, the baby wakes up so happy and welcoming dance which every mommy would be happy with.

Every mother longs to catch up some sleep when their baby sleeps, but they are so cranky and are super active in the nights. I was one who would wait for my little prince to sleep so I can get some sleep and later learned the way to make a routine for him which we both enjoyed and felt good. 

Daddy Time:

I feed him his dinner by the time his daddy arrives home so both of them get enough time to play around and have fun. He loves the warmth and comfort of his daddy hands. They snuggle, cuddle and talk with his parents as they live in a different place. 

Bath Time:

Give him a warm water bath in his favorite bathtub. His daddy prepares him for bath while I prepare his bathtub with his toys and bubble. Then both of us bath him while playing with him which he enjoys the most.

Night Dressing Time:
We then change him to his soft cotton night wears and wear pampers diaper so he gets an undisturbed sleep without getting disturbed because of wetting. Wetting sometimes causes nappy rash as his skin is very sensitive. Lucky to have pampers which gives full night support making him sleep comfortably.

Story Time:
We have few books with music which he loves to hear when we read it to him. His daddy reads the book explaining with actions which makes him laugh and cuddle.

Singing Time:
I sing him a rhyme to finish off the bedtime rituals. Sometimes I sing divine songs to nursery songs. In case if he is already in half sleep when hearing the story we play a soft music in our tablet. He just holds our hands and sleeps. We also make sure to switch off the light after reading book. Then we on the light lamp so he is prepared to sleep peacefully. We cover and cuddle him to sleep.


We love the bedtime rituals very much!!!

Life Without Constraints

Have you ever imagined a life without any constraints? What if you could happily feed 1000's of poor? What if you could buy your brother his dream bike? What if you could send your sister to study abroad? What if you could lend some money in your friends hour of need? If you could do all that without a second thought, your life will be wonderful and blessed. 

Our life has always been about fulfilling duties and responsibilities on our way, satisfying the needs of a family, and working hard under someone for a promotion. Have we lived our life at least once the way we want to? Have you thought what you would really like to do to the society and yourself? Have you ever tried to understand the purpose of your existence?

Once I start getting fitter, my mind and body will feel refreshed and active. I can think clearly and be free from stress. Having the time to take care of our body is a real blessing. 3. I will go to a dance class which is one of my wish from childhood. I want to learn new styles and perform in a live show. I want to explore the field of dance, show my talent and then succeed as a dancer and choreographer. I am sure dancing will bring in a lot of confidence and change in my life. Then, I would make choreography as my profession. 
4. I want to travel around the world with my life partner. There is a lot to learn from travelling to different places, we get to know their cultures, habits and tradition. Experiencing the different adventurous activities of the places. I love to go white water river rafting in Thailand, theme parks in Singapore, snorkeling in Krabi, paragliding in Hong Kong. Have watched all these in movies and will be my lifetime achievement if it happens. My dreams are endless and fulfilling them is my desire. 
5. I love to go trekking, so will travel and explore new heights by trekking. One of my dream place is to trek the Rohtang pass, watch the beautiful lake on way and experience the chillness. I will fulfill the dreams of my Himalayan fantasy. What else could I ask for when I can get a break like this to get myself rejuvenated from the hectic city work life.

The Unconditional Love

Listening to A.R.R's latest music when Sandhya's phone call came, she was super excited about the valentines day in a week's time and was very curious to know how I have planned the day for her. We know each other around 8 years and valentines day stands special to both of us, as Sandhya proposed on that day from when our love journey started. Every year I made sure to give her the best gifts she would love and surprise her. This year, undoubtedly I knew what Sandhya would really love, and I was sure that this gift would be the best of all I have given her. 

But what happened this evening was a sweet surprise to me as she choose my gift to be her valentine and kicked me out. She was so happy with what I gifted and decided her valentine the very moment. Oh My God!!! Pimples Again!!!

Being in your teens is the most blessed part of our life time I would always say. I loved my teens very much like any other. Sparkling around with loads of fun, joy and admiration. I loved the smart, talented, young and energetic me. Wherever I went, I attracted people, love and fame. I was very proud being the college chairperson, presidents of various clubs, doing an documentary of an legendary person and so on!!! Work, luck and smartness brought success in everything. But most of all, I was known for my BIG SMILE!!! My smile is the best part which brought sparks to my entire face!!!

I can never forget the day when I badly wanted to make the best appearance in every aspect and how this big pimple worried me. 

Each year, our college gets an opportunity to be featured in an TV programme for interacting with TOP CEO's from our region. I was chosen among the college to represent the students with our professor. I was so elated and top of the world, as to my surprise the person I was to meet and interact had been my dream and inspiration. I felt the stars were too lucky for me now!!

Sleepless nights, endless reading and finally prepared my draft for the big day. Ran around the departments to meet the heads for my approval and luckily everything came together. Now, comes the girl's biggest worry on what to dress for the occasion, but I would tell that I was lucky as the college had a code to follow and I was supposed to be formal and dressed in college blazer suit.

The Perfect Proposal

I am all excited to plan for the big day, I am going to propose my best buddy and senior at collage. He is the best man I have ever come across in my life. I must thank my brother for introducing his friend to me. At-least now, I should not worry about my big brother who is doing his masters in UK. 

I, Sharmi and Venkat have been best buddies since the day we met. We shared a lot in common and had emotional ties too. I don't know why I loved him, but the taught of being with him makes me super excited. We have crossed so much within a short span of 5 years.

My family never minds when I hang out with him as Venkat is considered the goodie goodie boy in our locality. 

Over years, our feelings for each other grew silently. We both knew the strong feelings for each other, yet we called ourselves as Friends. 

I wanted him to feel the top of heaven and decided a plan to propose to him. Luckily the stars planned the rest for me. Venkat went on a road trip to his friends wedding. I decided that its the best time to discuss with both our families. 

First, I opened the proposal to my family who were shocked, I convinced my mommy which made things very easier. They later learnt that Venkat knew nothing about this. But my love instinct told he was very madly in love with me. so I took the bold move to talk with his family. 

My father came with me when I went to talk with his family, they were cool parents and was very happy for us. They always loved me as a daughter and this has been a sweet surprise to them. His sister was so happy for us. 

We then decided how to surprise Venkat and play the Cupid Games.

We found an attractive girl in our college and decided to play a prank on Venkat. We told our plans to her and she readily agreed to do this for me.  

On Valentine day, the girl came to Venkat's home and rang the bell. She came with local surprise planners group who were singing love songs with band music. I asked her to dress in Blue, as its Venkat's favorite colour. She proposed to Venkat and he was like 'Hey , Do I know you???' 

Venkat family, our friends and I was with my family in his home, so we all came out to the music. Yep, its going good so far with the plan...

She then started saying the love dialogues I wrote for him, he got very angry and shouted that its not the way of asking someone in front of family and blah blah...

She then started laughing which made Venkat even more angry, she told that she has taken his family's permission first before proposing him and that his family has agreed on their marriage. 

Venkat turned back in shock, his dad told him that the girl had come along with her family and taken their permission. And that they liked the girl. 

When venkat looked at me, I was like weeping and very upset on what has happened. He felt very bad and embarrassed in front of such an situation. The girl really did her part every well and for an instant I got worried if she really loves Venkat. 

Venkat very decently tried to turn down her proposal. She started crying and now comes my part. I start advising Venkat that the girl is smart and nice, and that he should consider her proposal. We have some rough talks. He gets very angry at me as he knows how much I love him. He shouts at me, then why don't you consider my proposal to you, will you marry me?

I shout, "Oh yes, I love to...lets get married this weekend and give him a ring. Dear, please..." Everyone around bursts into laughs, and our families come together. Venkat is a clever boy, understood the whole drama. We exchanged rings and was fun around. We arranged an small party in his home, so we all had good time. We all celebrated our love!!!

Everybody Lies!!!!

Most of times, for naughty people like me, telling the truth we end up in trouble or relationship misunderstanding. I had to lie to keep my life and happy. My family wouldn't understand the needs of a teen!!! 

I always lie at possible situations, not to hide truth but for fun!!! I love to play pranks and then I tell them what I did. College life was even more fun when we use to lie to our parent while going for movie and lie to our professor for missing class. Lie is like a part of us!!!But as we grow up, the fact changes and we see it with feelings and life. Grown ups are difficult as everyone says!!!

I dont know what you would have done in an situation like I was. But I lied!!!!

Well, It was not and never have been for my personal benefit. I faced a situation where my lie was reasonable to save a women's life in the hour!!!

A small incident that happened a long ago that I would like to share, where I had to lie to a lady about his husband. To me that was an act of love and quick decision to save her life but it’s a lie which is hurting to know later!!! I and my husband were on way to our hometown by car late night. We arrived at an accident scene in the highways which just happened, my husband immediately called the ambulance services near the toll. The woman was bleeding and half conscious, thrown away on the other side of the road. Her husband was found farther away from her in an unconscious state and bleeding heavy. The ambulances arrived and I was helping with the lady, she kept telling that she wanted to see her husband first and then take her inside the ambulance. 

But I knew she could not take the situation of her husband at that time, so I assured her he is good and only with minor injuries and being taken in the other ambulance. Actually the medics were giving him first aid at the spot and the medic guy assured he will be alright after going to the hospital. He was unconscious and hurt badly. I gave her the false faith when she asked about her husband. I know what I did was wrong at that situation, but I never wanted her to stress more than the bad situation they were in. Later, we came to know about the couple that she has recovered fully and his husband was in coma. I felt really bad and prayed for his recovery soon. I still feel bad about lying to her, but I also feel good that she is better now to take care of him.  

I cannot justify what I did to her, of-course she deserved to know about her husband but I felt her first aid was very important and even her husband would have done the same thing.

As in the story of the video, telling the truth would never have done any good to the woman who was in pain, but I had to avoid details and give her some peace about her husband. But I know that women will never forgive me for the lie, but as of now I feel it as a good act to save her. I would any day justify my lie with time and circumstances I was in.
